If the green movement is a fad it is a good one, and one
that I am happy to be on board with. There are many environmentally
responsible products available to designers and consumers alike. I am honored
to be working on a beautiful, LEED certified project in Boston. The clients have done hours of
research and along with their design team, they are renovating their gorgeous, historic home in an innovative and conscientious way.
For my part, my crew and I have been hard at work applying American Clay
to all of the wall surfaces. And
yep, by now we’re all pretty buff.
I continue my collaboration with American Clay as a teacher,
an applicator, and a dealer. (Application workshop this Friday 6/5) My own low VOC paint line is in
the works and I am beginning the process of working toward LEED (leadership in energy
and environmental design) certification. These are busy and exciting times.
But......green is still a color, and a beautiful one.

In New England we wait a
long time for winter dreary trees to unfurl their tightly held buds. Once they
give up the ghost of winter an explosion of green surrounds us. A friend commented the other day that
she thought there are more shades of green than of any other color. I completely agree.
June is a salute to green. Please check back for weekly photo postings celebrating green.
How lucky am I to be house-sitting for a favorite designer friend smack dab between NH and Maine?
And speaking of green...the columns are antique and salvaged. The pergola material is made from recycled content.
